William is the happiest 6 year old boy, despite his difficulties. He loves the outdoors and we as his family seek activities to enjoy together. However, William is unequipped to use a standard bike and needs a safe adaptive bike to enjoy with his youngest sibling who adores playtime with him. Riding a bike is such an important part of childhood and insurance doesn't cover the cost of a specialized bike made to work with his disability. Standard wheelchairs are unsuitable for uneven terrain, which limits his ability to explore. An adaptive bike would provide William with the freedom and exercise he needs, allowing him to experience the joy of riding and exploring the world beyond his limitations. He has no since of danger or motor skills to operate a regular bike. An adaptive bike would help him so much in so many areas. It would help give him a sense of freedom as he grows, giving us the sense of safety with being help to control it as needed.
