In addition to Down Syndrome, Lia wears braces on both of her feet due to plesplanus with hindfoot deformity. This limits her walking mobility and stamina. We adopted Lia from China in 2015 and she has worked hard to be able to walk, but in an active family, she struggles to keep up on walks. She was also just diagnosed in November 2024 with pulmonary hypertension after noticing some fatigue with walking and playing outdoors. We also just found out she has a heart defect in December.
