Laina loves playing with her friends and siblings outside. She has Tuberous Sclerosis Complex, Epilepsy, Autism, and global delays. About 6 years ago, she outgrew her bike trailers. We have been looking into getting her an adaptive bike ever since but have not found anything affordable and insurance and reimbursement programs won’t cover them. She really wants to learn how to ride by herself. We have tried regular bikes with training wheels without success. She struggles with motor planning and coordination. Because of this, she is not able to pedal on a typical bike, nor is she able to steer appropriately. She has also outgrown bikes with training wheels and cannot balance on two wheels. She requires an adaptive bike to help improve these skills, with guidance from an adult.
