This is Elijah. He is 8 years old and has quad Cerebral Palsy, as a result of a birth injury. He is wheelchair bound and nonverbal. He also has epilepsy. His original diagnosis at birth was Hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy, which means lack of oxygen to the brain at birth. He was healthy my entire pregnancy and all the way up until his birth. He went through terrible things but by the grace of God he fought through it all. He is an absolute miracle! Our family loves to take him out and about. We have tried to find ways to get our son to be able to go on bike rides but nothing seems to give him the proper support to keep him safe. This would greatly improve his happiness and quality of life to be able to enjoy outdoor strolls. He is so smart and always smiling! He lights up every room and has the most contagious laugh.
